Autoclave sterilization
Sterilization is the most important aspect of infection control in nthe practice of dentistry. Ensuring 100% sterilization with pressurized steam, the most developed device for the sterilization of dental tools is the autoclave device.
We are ensuring sterilization with 2 Melag and 1 Statim autoclave device in our clinic. Autoclave sterilization efficacy is inspected by Istanbul University Department of Microbiology regularly each month.
Disenfectant sprays and solutions
Patient chairs are cleaned with disinfectant sprays and protective cover on the headpiece is changed after each patient. All plaster models made according to the measurements taken from the patients are kept in disinfectant solutions before they are sent to the laboratory and likewise, all kinds of denture prosthesis and apparatus from the laboratory are kept in disinfectant solutions before they they have any contact with patient’s mouth. The places of clinical and treatment units are cleaned with chlorine solutions every day.

Single use materials
Many materials are used in single patient and disposed, particularly injections used in our clinic, plastic cups from which patients rinse their mouths, anesthetic solutions, tips of dental suction units etc.
Use of Patient Gowns, Examination Gloves, Masks, Protective Eyewear
Patient gowns prevent microorganisms to transmit on the patient’s clothes through blood and saliva during the treatment.
Examination gloves, masks and protective eyewear should be worn to prevent from transmission of infectious diseases between the dentist, patient and dental assistants through blood, saliva and respiration. Disposable products are used for each patient in the treatments we carry out in our clinic.
Disposal of Used Materials
The used needles are broken and collected in closed special sharps containers and then disposed of. All of the wastes produced in our clinic are collected in separate sealed, sturdy impervious bags as General Waste and Medical Waste. Medical Wastes are delivered to Medical Waste Containers of the Municipality in compliance with the standards of Ministry of Health.
